More IS more-Grafting, Propagation and Increasing Yields


More is More Edible Plants Workshop -Grafting, Propagation and Yield Multiplying.

Ever wanted to learn about the multiplying of plants.  There are a multitude of different propagation methods using root, stem and leaf.  Laura will work through the techniques making sure you fully understand each method.  We will also discuss various methods for increasing yield of the fruit.   Discussion will be encouraged please bring your questions! 


After a short break we will jump into the topic of grafting.  This is our way of propagating woody materials.  Laura will discuss all the dos and don’ts to get the best from your grafting attempts.  Each participant will have a minimum of 2 pieces of rootstock and 2 scion pieces.  Using your own grafting tool/knife graft your potted trees under Laura’s guidance. 


Date: Saturday April 27, 2024 (Perfect timing to get your trees in the ground)


Location:  Ettyville, Ontario just West of Bourget, ON (Plantagenet, ON)

    Farmgal’s Farm is a location I’ve been dying to spend more time at.  She has a beyond organic nearly self-sustaining farm.  Over many years she has worked her land into the beautiful abundance that feeds her family including supplementing the fur babies’ diets.   She has built a food forest using a variety of native and unique species.  We will breathe in the fresh country air (weather pending) while we watch Laura share her knowledge.  The workshop will be moved indoors (PET FRIENDLY).  Please dress for the weather in case we are outside.

What you will receive for your ticket price ($110 plus HST)
-Invitation to a private almost completely self sustaining beyond organic farm. 
-Detailed handout discussing methods used in the workshop.
- 2 pots/soil, 2 rootstock, 2 scions.
-The ability of make the best choice of propagation method for your plant.
-Ideas to increase the yield on your fruiting plants
-How to prune native shrubs to increase yield.
-Confidence moving forward on how to select proper tree grafting materials
-Experience on how to graft your own trees.
-Future contact with Laura for any questions that might arise.
-Tea/Coffee/Water for refreshment will be provided.
-HOT SOUP AND HOMEMADE BUNS (The Farmgal rocks!)


Price of your grafting tool or knife NOT included.  You will need your own grafting tool, please bring your own or purchase one or both when you purchase your ticket!

About Fine Lines Landscape and Designs

Laura Moses is a double certified horticulturist.  She holds an Ornamental Maintenance designation from Landscape Ontario and the North American Horticultural Society and her Red Seal Journeymen ticket as a Certified Landscape Technician from the Canadian Government.   She was part of the Master Gardener organization which propelled her public speaking and workshop repertoire. 


Upon moving to Kingston right after the birth of her second child, she germinated her company Fine Lines Landscape and Designs.    Moving into her 7th year of landscaping where she specializes in ornamental, native and medicinal gardens as well as fruit trees.  She is a published designer who has been featured in the Edible Ottawa magazine and is currently working on her first book- a book on fruit tree care using easy solutions for problems that might arise.  Fine Lines offers designs, maintenance and can accommodate small construction projects to the South-Central Eastern Ontario area.  We have traveled further for the right project so do not hesitate to reach out to her with your ideas.   Fine Lines workshops are held across Ontario from Hamilton to Cornwall and are now VIRTUAL too!
